This species was originaly collected from the wild in Chile in 1774 and is the first species to be recorded in history so is also known as the original buddleja as well as the orange ball buddleja. The leaves are deeply divided and textured and are deep green with a silvery reverse. The flowers are small clusters of compact small balls and are a rich orange colour, this plant grows into a large shrub to small tree and can reach a height of 5 meters.
